Millions Ignore This Year-Round Virus Until It’s Too Late

People are being urged to remember that an illness commonly referred to as a “winter bug” actually remains active throughout the entire year. And there are some less well-known warning signs to be aware of.

Anyone who contracts norovirus should avoid attending work or school, as well as care homes and hospitals, for 48 hours after symptoms subside, in an effort to prevent it spreading. UKHSA previously shared on X, formerly Twitter: “Vomiting or diarrhoea in spring? It could still be #Norovirus. Despite being known as the ‘winter vomiting bug’, norovirus can spread all year round.”
